WASHINGTON (NewsNation Now) — With exactly one week until the 2020 presidential election, both candidates hit the campaign trail across the country Tuesday.

President Donald Trump held rallies in three states key to his reelection: Michigan, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

He kicked off the day with a rally in Lansing, Michigan, before speaking in West Salem, Wisconsin, and later Omaha, Nebraska.

The president’s campaign blitz comes one day after his Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed by the Senate and sworn in during a White House ceremony.

Nebraska is a crucial state for Trump in the election, considering the state apportions three of its five electoral votes by majority vote in its three congressional districts.

In a scenario where Biden and Trump finish close to a tie in the U.S. Electoral College, the Omaha district could make the difference of clinching the 270th elector needed to win.

Michigan and Wisconsin are also two states that Trump won by narrow margins in 2016.

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence campaigned in North Carolina and South Carolina Tuesday, continuing his travel schedule despite a coronavirus outbreak among his aides.

Joe Biden visited Georgia Tuesday, as former President Barack Obama hits Florida on the Democratic nominee’s behalf.

Biden delivered remarks in Warm Springs and then attend a drive-in early voting event in Atlanta.

Biden’s stop in Georgia signals the campaign’s optimism in the final week.

The state hasn’t supported a Democrat in a presidential election since 1992.

Former President Barack Obama campaigned in Orlando, Florida, while Biden’s running mate Sen. Kamala Harris visits Nevada.

The California senator will participate in early voting mobilization events in Reno and Las Vegas.

On Monday, both Biden and Trump spoke to voters in Pennsylvania.

Nearly 65 million ballots have been cast early in this year’s election so far, according to the University of Florida’s U.S. Elections Project. The total of in-person and mail ballots cast early in the 2016 election was 58 million.
