(NewsNation) — President Joe Biden will return to the campaign trail next week. This time, it’s in support of Vice President Kamala Harris‘ presidential run.

The two will head to Maryland on Thursday, Aug. 15, to “discuss the progress they are making to lower costs for the American people,” the White House said Friday morning.

Taking those steps to lower costs is one area Biden wants to focus on in the final months of his presidency.

Further details about the event will be provided later.

It will be the pair’s first campaign event together since Biden dropped out of the race on July 21 and Harris took his place as the Democratic Party presidential nominee. He formally endorsed the vice president on July 22.

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” Biden wrote in a social media post.

Biden and Harris appeared briefly together last week at Joint Base Andrews to welcome home U.S. citizens Paul Whelan, Evan Gershkovich and Alsu Kurmasheva. The three, along with 13 others, were being wrongfully detained in Russia until a massive prisoner swap occurred between seven countries.

They also participated in a Situation Room meeting earlier this week to discuss rising tensions in the Middle East and had lunch together last week.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
