(NewsNation) — Vice President Kamala Harris is looking to separate herself from President Joe Biden’s agenda on the campaign trail as the 2024 election ramps up.

While Harris is working to build off what their administration has accomplished in certain areas, she appears to be trying to break away when it comes to economic policy.

NewsNation has learned Harris, in her upcoming rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, will not push a “Medicare for All” plan despite previously supporting the effort. She is expected to talk about her plan to lower the cost of health care, housing and food — issues that President Joe Biden has been unpopular among voters on.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump is attempting to tie Harris to these unpopular policies from the Biden administration as a new poll shows voters trust the Democratic candidate more than Trump when it comes to the economy.

The new poll shows Harris with 42% favorability and Trump with 41%. Harris is faring better against Trump than Biden, who was polling around 35% in July compared to Trump’s 41%.

Harris will make her first joint appearance with Biden since he dropped out of the race over three weeks ago with an event in Maryland. On Friday, she will roll out some of her economic agenda in North Carolina.

On Sunday, Harris will head to Pennsylvania with her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, before heading to a rally in Wisconsin.

One thing not on Harris’ schedule yet is media interviews, something that is garnering her much criticism from Republicans.
