(NewsNation) — Days before the New Hampshire primary, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley touted her endorsement from TV’s most well-known judge.
“Judge Judy” Sheindlin, 81, in a statement earlier this month endorsed the former South Carolina Governor in a statement released by Haley’s campaign, The Hill reported.
The endorsement itself got mixed reactions.
On Thursday, Haley posted on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, another quote from Sheindlin, where she said “neither (President Joe Biden) nor (former President Donald) Trump would know a Houthi from a salami unless someone whispered in their ear or spelled it out for them on a teleprompter.”
“We need a president like Haley who knows what’s happening — because that’s essential to knowing how to respond,” Sheindlin said.
On Facebook, Haley put screenshots from a Daily Mail op-ed where Sheindlin elaborated on her support.
“It takes a lot for me to support any one candidate so strongly,” Sheindlin wrote. “But Nikki Haley’s integrity, intelligence, energy and experience speak for themselves. And I know that she’s more than ready to take on the world’s toughest job as President of the United States.”
Sheindlin also doubled down on her criticisms of Trump and Biden.
“Trump was elected President with zero political experience. While no one should deny his acumen as a businessman, he is not a leader,” she wrote. “… As for Joe Biden, I’ve never seen greatness or anything close to it in his 53-year political career.”
Haley wrote that she is “honored” to have “Judge Judy’s” support.
According to its website, “Judge Judy” was the #1 court show in daytime television since it first started in 1996. Currently, she’s on Amazon’s FreeVee’s “Judy Justice.”
CT Insider notes that this isn’t the first time Sheindlin has waded into political waters: She endorsed former New York City Mayor MIchael Bloomberg, a Democrat, in the 2020 presidential election.
