Haley looks to gain momentum in Super Tuesday states

  • Haley: 'America keeps losing is because of Donald Trump'
  • South Carolina voters say they're preparing for her to potentially drop out

(NewsNation) — Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says she’s staying in the race for the White House as long as she’s still receiving support from voters, but that all could change after Tuesday.

The presidential hopeful is coming off her only win so far in the primaries out of Washington, D.C., hoping to continue momentum on Super Tuesday.

She kicked off an aggressive campaign tour, making stops in North Carolina, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts, ending the string of events Monday night in Forth Worth, Texas.

“At some point, maybe we should say the reason that America keeps losing is because of Donald Trump. We can change all of that. But in order to change it, it’s going to take a lot of courage, courage from everybody here. Courage for me to run and courage for every one of you. Don’t complain about what happens in a general election if you don’t vote in this primary,” Haley said Monday.

Haley returned to South Carolina so she could be on her home turf for Super Tuesday, where voters say they’re preparing for her to potentially drop out.

“What about her donors? If her donors see Super Tuesday as a wash or doesn’t turn out as well as expected, then the donors will back up and that’ll force her to make that decision,” South Carolina resident Ron Liszy said.

“I think she’s done really well, but I think she is going to have to acquiesce and just give it up,” South Carolina resident Michelle Gilliard said.

Haley has not planned any campaign events past Tuesday and hasn’t released any additional campaign ads, potentially indicating the end may be near for her campaign.
