(NewsNation) — Rep. Scott Perry (R-Penn.) is unconcerned with poll numbers showing Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.

In the latest Quinnipiac University poll, Harris leads Trump by three points (48% to 45%) in the Keystone State.

Perry joined “NewsNation Now” from the campaign trail and suggested polls such as Quinnipiac’s were not reflective of his constituents’ views.

“I think that those polls, although they’re tight, are meant to drive opinion and narrative, as opposed to reflect sentiment,” Perry said.

“Where I am in the 10th congressional district in south-central Pennsylvania, most of the people are sick of the high gas prices and grocery prices. They don’t blame Donald Trump,” Perry said.

“For them. Donald Trump actually cut their taxes, and they know for sure that if Kamala Harris is the president, the taxes are going up … The rhetoric just doesn’t match reality. Most people know that, and they’re going to vote with their pocketbooks,” he added.

According to The Hill’s Decision Desk HQ, Harris has a 1.8% lead nationally and a 0.8% in Pennsylvania.
