PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One of the races that could determine the fate of Congress this election season happens to be the rematch race for Washington’s 3rd District, and on Monday night, the candidates debated on KOIN 6.

Incumbent U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, a Democrat, is facing Republican challenger Joe Kent again.

Gluesenkamp Perez is a first-term congresswoman and Kent is a former Green Beret and special forces veteran.

The debate, which will be moderated by KOIN 6 Political Director Ken Boddie and KOIN 6 veteran political reporter Lisa Balick, will be an hour long and feature one commercial break. Questions for the candidates will come from Boddie and Balick, and each candidate will get a minute for a response. If the moderator decides to follow up or a rebuttal is needed, each candidate will get 30 seconds. More on the debate’s rules can be found here.

A live blog on the debate will begin shortly before 7 p.m.
