RFK Jr. reportedly pursuing Nicole Shanahan as VP pick
- RFK Jr. was considering Jesse Ventura, Aaron Rodgers for VP
- RFK Jr. faces tough choices in quest for ballot access
- Shanahan is known for paying for Kennedy's Super Bowl commercial
(NewsNation) — Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to announce Nicole Shanahan as his running mate for his independent presidential bid, Mediaite reported.
Mediaite uncovered what they say is the domain registration of kennedyshanahan.com, indicating active fundraising efforts with a live donation page. The domain was registered by Link Lipsitz, a senior advisor to Kennedy, Mediaite reported.
Kennedy will be on NewsNation’s “CUOMO” Monday night.
Nicole Shanahan is a California attorney and entrepreneur previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brinn. This move comes after Aaron Rodgers, the NFL quarterback, once under consideration, has been ruled out, citing concerns from campaign donors.
Shanahan who is known for paying for Kennedy’s Super Bowl commercial, is expected to be formally named as the vice-presidential candidate, aligning with Kennedy on various issues crucial to their campaign.
Additionally, Shanahan’s potential to contribute financially, particularly to the ballot access initiative, has made her an attractive choice despite concerns about her qualifications.
The campaign only confirmed the imminent announcement, stating, “There has been a lot of speculation in the media. The official announcement will be on March 26 in Oakland. We hope to see you there.”
