RFK Jr.’s Trump endorsement a ‘nothing burger’: Democrat

(NewsNation) —  A former Trump White House media adviser is looking forward to the poll bump that will come with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s withdrawal from the presidential race and his endorsement of Donald Trump.

“With it being such a razor-tight race, I think this five percent is going to go for Trump,” said Hilton Beckham and spokesperson for the American First Policy Institute. “I think these are the very common-sense minded Democrats who don’t want a Kamala Harris administration.”

Democratic strategist and former Kansas state lawmaker Raj Goyle is equally sure that Kennedy backing Trump won’t change a thing.

“I don’t think the Robert Kennedy endorsement really affects the race fundamentally. I think it’s a nothing burger,” Goyle told “NewsNation Prime.”

“Look how well they’ve (voters) responded to Kamala Harris in the last 35 days. I think they’re going to fall even more in line with her vision for the future after they see her debate and take down Donald Trump,” he added.

Beckham, however, says the Harris honeymoon is bound to end and it’s to Trump’s advantage to talk policy “because Kamala Harris refuses to. And … when she does, the one time she does when it comes to the economy, both Republicans and Democrats and the media panned her for it, saying it would liken our economy to something like from Venezuela.”

Goyle begs to differ on the idea that Harris is losing momentum.

“Trump’s in Donald Trump’s fantasy world. Of course, Kamala Harris has a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. But at the same time … the only pole that matters is (on) election day.”
