(NewsNation) — An old video of Sen. J.D. Vance calling himself a “never-Trump guy” has resurfaced online and gone viral on TikTok.

Since former President Donald Trump announced Vance would be his running mate in the 2024 presidential election, old comments of Vance’s have been circulating the internet, including one where he called Trump “America’s Hitler.”

However, a clip of him saying he’s never liked Trump is the first of Vance’s comments to have been turned into a song. The song, which was remixed by TikTok user @casadimusic, has been used in over two thousand posts.

The original quote was from an interview with Charlie Rose in 2016 where Vance was promoting his book “Hillbilly Elegy.”

After beginning his political career, however, Vance spent his time in the Senate becoming one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, and has now joined his bid for the presidency, a move that some Republicans are calling “the worst choice.

TikTok users are blowing up the song, with one user adding it over a video of Vice President Kamala Harris dancing. Harris’s campaign also used it in a video of their own.

“Anything to advance your own career. Vance and Trump — birds of a feather,” one user commented.

“It’s amazing that JD Vance and I have something in common,” another user said.
