Democrats’ endorsements of Harris ‘predictable’: Bill O’Reilly
- Biden offered his 'full support and endorsement' to Vice President Harris
- O'Reilly: Media will portray Harris as the strongest leader since Lincoln
- Democrats will nominate the party's candidate at the DNC next month
(NewsNation) — Author and journalist Bill O’Reilly says it was “predictable” that Vice President Kamala Harris would get endorsements from Democrats after President Joe Biden announced he won’t seek reelection.
“Entirely predictable. I said that Biden wouldn’t be on the ticket … in November 2023,” O’Reilly said Monday on “Morning in America.” “I think I said on the “Cuomo” show that once Kamala Harris got the nod, the press would portray her as the strongest leader Americans had since Abraham Lincoln, which is exactly what’s going to happen.”
O’Reilly argued progressives and moderates in the Democratic Party have essentially united, and he claimed most of the media is “adamantly liberal” and “hate” former President Donald Trump, which will likely result in favorable coverage toward Harris.
Since Biden’s announcement, prominent Democratic elected officials, party leaders and political organizations have lined up behind Harris. However, big names like former President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have not yet endorsed her.
Democrats are trying to put weeks of intraparty drama over Biden’s candidacy behind them. Biden’s departure frees up his delegates to vote for whomever they choose. Harris is thus far the only declared candidate.
On the first day of her presidential campaign, Harris brought in over $49.6 million in donations, her campaign confirmed to NewsNation.
Harris says she’ll do everything in her power to unite Democrats and the nation and defeat Trump.
