LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The two candidates vying for Las Vegas Mayor faced off in a debate Tuesday on 8 News Now.
Shelley Berkley, a career politician, debated with Victoria Seaman, a sitting city councilwoman in the non-partisan race.
It will be the first time in 25 years that the nonpartisan office will be held by someone who is not a member of the Goodman family, with Oscar Goodman being elected as mayor in 1999 and his wife, Mayor Carolyn Goodman, having held the position since he left office in 2011.

According to Berkley’s website, Berkley was a practicing attorney for the Nevada State Commerce Department, in-house counsel for Southwest Gas Corporation, and Vice President for Government and Legal Affairs for the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas.
