NewsNation’s “Clinton: Portrait of a Presidency” documentary

CHICAGO, IL (September 26, 2024) – NewsNation today announced that it will present “Clinton: Portrait of a Presidency,” an original documentary produced by NewsNation Films, on Sunday, November 3rd at 8 p.m. ET. Narrated by Emmy- and Grammy-award winning actor Blair Underwood, the two-hour film will examine an unprecedented time of peace and prosperity in America under the leadership of President William Jefferson Clinton. The CW Network will carry a simulcast of the documentary nationwide.

The documentary features key events that took place during Clinton’s presidency, and tells a story of economic renewal, compromise, peace, and human frailty.  During the Clinton era, the federal government achieved the highest budget surplus in its history and American families thrived in a booming economy. Clinton left office with the American public giving him the highest approval rating in history, despite a scandal that rocked his presidency.

Viewers will hear from James Carville, political commentator and chief strategist for Clinton’s ’92 presidential campaign; Governor Terry McAuliffe, Co-Chair of Clinton’s re-election bid and former head of the Democratic National Committee; Michael Isikoff, author of Uncovering Clinton: A Reporter’s Story and the journalist who discovered Clinton’s relationship with Monica Lewinsky; fellow Rhodes scholar and former Congressman Tom McMillen (D-MD); and Dr. Jay Barth, Director of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum.

This is the second installment in NewsNation’s “Portrait of a Presidency” series. In June, Reagan: Portrait of a Presidency debuted on the cable news network.  On Saturday, November 2, The CW will air an encore presentation of that film at 8 p.m. ET.
