In an effort to free U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner, the United States government has reportedly offered to swap her for convicted Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.

Bout is best known as “the Merchant of Death,” and he’s currently locked up in Illinois. National Security & Global Affairs expert Laura Ballman and former CIA officer Bob Baer weigh in during an appearance on “Banfield.”

Plus, Officer Parker shared his perspective on a 12-year-old boy in Michigan reportedly firing a gun while robbing a gas station.

More on Ashleigh Banfield’s talk show on NewsNation weeknights at 10/9c.
