Recently Released Offensive Tackle Could Bolster Bengals' O-Line Room

Cincinnati will likely be in the market for a veteran offensive lineman

CINCINNATI — The Steelers released offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor on Monday afternoon.

There's been plenty of discussion about the Bengals potentially targeting Trent Brown or Jermaine Eluemunor in free agency with Jonah Williams likely signing elsewhere.

Okorafor gives the Bengals another veteran option that they could target. He made 59 starts and appeared in 77 games for the Steelers over the past six seasons.

The 27-year-old allowed two sacks and 11 pressures in seven starts according to Pro Football Focus. He was benched in the middle of the season for 2023 first rounder Broderick Jones.

The Steelers released Okorafor to clear nearly $9 million in cap space. He's a vested veteran and could sign with another team at any time.

While he's far from a perfect player, the former third-round pick gives Cincinnati another veteran that could help fill one of the biggest voids on the roster. They could also add him before the new league year begins.

Given the state of their right tackle position, including the uncertainty surrounding Williams' future in Cincinnati, Okorafor would probably love to sign with the Bengals in free agency.
