NFL MVP Has Strong Comparisons for Raiders Crosby

There is no doubt that Las Vegas Raiders Maxx Crosby has become one of the best defensive ends in the National Football League.

Crosby finished the season as a finalist for this year's 2024 Defensive Player of the Year, along with Dallas Cowboys's Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland, Pittsburgh Steelers' TJ Watt, and Cleveland Browns' Myles Garrett, who won the award.

Crosby ended the 2023-24 NFL regular season statistically as the best in his five-season career. He finished the season with 55 solo tackles, 35 assists, 14.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery in 17 games for the Silver and Black defense.

Throughout all of Super Bowl week in Las Vegas, many people around the NFL, including former players, had the opportunity to talk about the Raiders.

Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton had the opportunity to talk about Maxx Crosby and compare him to future Hall of Fame defensive end JJ Watt.

"Maxx has a lot of JJ Watt in him. It's not anything other than his effort. I love his effort. Skill can get you so far, but effort can take you further. What I see when I watch him is just high-energy."

In 12 seasons played in the NFL, Watt finished with 449 solo tackles, 137 assists, 114.5 sacks, and 17 fumble recoveries. Watt played for both the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals.

In five seasons played with the Raiders, Crosby has 205 solo tackles, 116 assists, 52.0 sacks, and three fumble recoveries.

Crosby is the foundation for the Silver and Black defense, and it will be exciting to watch what he will bring as a top-tier edge rusher for years to come.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
