Raiders Under Contract: DT David Ebuka Agoha

Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle David Ebuka Agoha is on a one-year, $795,000 contract.

The Las Vegas Raiders were one of the eight beneficiaries to add a player from the NFL's International Player Pathway program in May 2023.

Their signee was defensive tackle David Ebuka Agoha from Nigeria, a former basketball star from Nigeria's Premier Basketball League, who made a switch to football.

Ebuka Agoha made his presence felt in Week 2 of the 2023 preseason when he recorded the Raiders' only sack in their win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Unfortunately for the young defensive tackle, he did not appear in a regular season game this past season.

Last month, the Raiders signed Ebuka Agoha to a reserve/future contract. His one-year deal is worth $795,000.

Ebuka Agoha first began building recognition through former All-Pro defensive end Osi Umenyiora's The Uprise initiative. He and the five other Nigerian natives who came through the IPP last year attended the NFL Africa Camp in Ghana in 2022.

Umenyiora was teammates with Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce during all five of Pierce's seasons as a New York Giant.

Ebuka Agoha and his fellow IPP participants were able to train and display their talent at a 10-week training camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. They also had a pro day at the University of South Florida.

The International Player Pathway program began in 2017, with intentions of allowing talented prospects from around the globe to get their shot at a career in the NFL.

Ebuka Agoha has a long way to go before he earns himself another season as a Raider, but after coming this far, you can be sure he's going to do continue to put in the work to try and put himself in that position.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
