The search for baby Miya
Baby Miya was discovered missing during a welfare check at her home at Deanfield Church Road. During the check, police discovered her parents and other family members were involved in drug trafficking.
Her parents and grandfather were then arrested and charged with drug possession and abandonment of a minor.
Miya Rudd’s parents are Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd. They lived with Miya’s Grandfather, Ricky Smith.
During the search for the eight-month-old several arrests unrelated to Rudd’s disappearance were made. This included her grandmother Billie Smith, who was arrested for an outstanding warrant about a domestic violence incident in 2023.
In an effort to find baby Miya Police searched the home of Taletha Tucker and David Tucker, Miya Rudd’s maternal grandparents.
The search did not find baby Miya but lead to the arrest of both grandparents as they both had outstanding warrants.
Police then arrested Brodie Payne in connection to the illegal drug operation being held at baby Miya’s residence.
