KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — An infant is dead following a dog attack in Knox County. The sheriff’s office shared that they are investigating the incident.

The child’s mother, Chloe Mansoor, shared with NewsNation affiliate WATE that her 6-week-old son Ezra was attacked by their family dog “out of nowhere” on May 24.

Ezra was then taken to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital where lifesaving measures were attempted. However, Mansoor shared that he was declared dead at 2:33 p.m. on May 30.

“All prayers and support are very much appreciated,” wrote Mansoor to WATE.

KCSO shared that an investigation is open, however, they are not able to share any additional information about the case since it involves a juvenile.
