WARREN COUNTY, Tenn. (NewsNation Now) — A soon-to-be dad was executed in front of his pregnant wife during a crime spree across multiple Tennessee counties Sunday, officials said.
Dangelo Dorsey, 29, allegedly carjacked Aileen and Jordan Stevens after an apparent fender bender accident while they were on their way to church, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said. Dorsey forced the couple to drive him to their home where he took their firearms, swapped vehicles and left with them.
Dorsey then executed Jordan Stevens in front of his four months pregnant wife. The couple had been together since high school.
“He did what he was supposed to do,” said Eliezer Rostran, Aileen Steven’s brother said. “He was taking care of his wife and unborn child.”
After killing Jordan, Dorsey flipped the car with Aileen in the front seat during a police chase and killed himself. Dorsey is accused of wounding at least two others during the crime spree.
The police safely brought Aileen to a hospital.
“Jordan will live for as long as that baby lives and we thank God for that miracle. It was God’s hand over her,” Rostran said.
“She says she doesn’t want any money, she doesn’t want any flowers, that she just wants her husband back. And that’s tough,” Rostran said. “That’s tough because there’s no money that can replace him.”
