MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A family is doing what they can to help the families of the Memphis Police officers involved in a fatal car wreck last week.

Officer Demetrice Johnson was killed in a crash on Danny Thomas Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard. A second officer was also injured, and a civilian died as well.

The Kimball brothers, triplets TJ, Bobby, and Lucas, sold lemonade and cookies outside their Bartlett home Saturday for Johnson’s family.

The 7-year-old brothers called it “Lemonade for the Fallen.” All of the money is going to the Memphis Police Association to help the officer’s family.

Their father, a Memphis Fire Department, says the fire department and police work hand and hand every day out in the field and are one big family.

“Brainstorm of my wife and myself, just trying to figure out how we could give back and also teach the boys what giving back to the community is, what good community service is, and they said they wanted to do lemonade and cookies, and so we ran with a lemonade and cookie stand,” Benjamin Kimball said.

In previous years the family has helped the families of Memphis firefighters who were also killed in the line of duty.
