KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (NewsNation Now) — Authorities are searching for a tiger on the loose in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert Wednesday night after reports of the animal being spotted in southeast Knoxville.
The tiger was reportedly seen in the Forks of the River Industrial Park. The KSCO hasn’t reported any more sightings Thursday.
NewsNation affiliate WATE-TV confirms that a trap has been set for the tiger. It appears to be a humane bear trap with a “grocery store chicken” hanging inside, WATE-TV reports. The trap was seen in an area dense with foliage near a water source.
Zoo Knoxville and Tiger Haven in Roane County confirm to WATE-TV that all of its tigers are accounted for. The orgins of the tiger remain unclear.
