Video shows Kansas fraternity throwing alcohol in car and harassing lost driver
LAWRENCE, Kan. (NewsNation) — Video taken by a lost driver shows members of a University of Kansas fraternity throwing alcohol into the man’s car and harassing him after he said he accidentally pulled into the wrong driveway.
Jacob Schooler said he made a wrong turn into the KU’s chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity on Saturday evening.
He said when he tried to leave members of the Kappa Sigma blocked his car. He recorded video of the aftermath which shows people throwing alcohol into his car and yelling at him. The video then shows fraternity members blocking his car in as a woman approaches him and tells him to put his phone down.
Warning: language in the video has been censored, but some viewers may find the footage upsetting.
Schooler’s wife posted the video to Facebook.
Schooler said despite the video gaining a lot of attention on social media, no one from the fraternity has reached out to apologize.
“I hope that, you know, people can see it and learn from it, or that something good comes from it,” Schooler said.
NewsNation affiliate KSNT reached out to Kappa Sigma President Andrew Klimiuk, who declined to comment. The chapter’s national headquarters has not responded to a request for comment as of Saturday night.
