Rules for outbursts at Caddo School Board Meeting

NORMANDY, Mo. – A bus was engulfed in flames Monday evening in Normandy. Authorities say one person was taken to the hospital for treatment but it does not appear that there were any serious injuries.

First responders got the call about the fire at around 6:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities tell us the school bus driver noticed the bus was on fire and she jumped out of the bus. The bus was from Lift for Life and authorities say no children were on board.

After the driver jumped out of the bus, it rolled down Ellington Drive, which is on a hill. The bus hit a car and then crashed into the home.

Neighbors say some of the people who lived here were home at the time but they weren’t hurt.

“We just heard a big explosion, and my grandma went to her back window and saw like a big gulf of smoke,” Sophia Mallett, neighbor, said. “So then we heard a second explosion, so I just came out and walked down the street, and a bus had apparently crashed into the house and caught on fire, just went up in flames.”

The family living at the home told FOX 2 they’re not sure when they’ll be able to return to their house. Damage to the house is still being assessed.
