HUGOTON, Kan. (KSNW) — One of the two Kansas women killed in Oklahoma will be remembered with a Celebration of Life service at the beginning of May.

Veronica Butler, 27, was a fiancée and mother of two children. On March 30, she went with Jilian Kelley to visit her children in Oklahoma. The women disappeared that day, and their bodies were found on Sunday, April 14. Five people are charged with kidnapping and murdering them.

Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton is handling Butlers’s arrangements and posted her obituary.

It describes her as a fiancée and mother, a caring person, and a talented cook. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was attending Seward County Community College to become a surge tech. She was known for her homemade biscuits and gravy.

Visitors can sign the guestbook at the funeral home, 314 S. Van Buren St., from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2.

A Celebration of Life service is set for 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, at Hugoton Assembly of God Church, 138 S. Main St.

Robson Funeral Home says a memorial has been established for her children’s education fund. Make checks payable to Veronica Butler’s Children Education Fund, in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Kelley on Sunday, April 28. Click here to learn more.
