Bath, N.Y. (NewsNation) — Not even COVID-19 could cancel one of New York’s longest-running fairs.

For the past 201 years, the carnival has brought funnel cake, animals, and vehicle shows to Bath, New York.

This year, the fair turned into a drive-thru with stations for all the carnival food favorites like hot dogs, lemonade, and funnel cake.

The drive-thru fair even had an animal exhibit and an antique vehicle show.

The fairground manager Nick Pelham told NewsNation affiliate WETM, it has been continuous since 1819.

“We’re actually the original fair in New York state dating back to 1795,” he said.

This also isn’t their first pandemic, Pelham said. The carnival survived the 1918 influenza as well.
