BROOKLYN, Conn. (WTNH) — A family is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for damaging and stealing their mother’s gravestone, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers said a series of crimes have been committed against Mark Benard and his family- the latest being the damaging of their mother’s gravestone on multiple occasions.
Overnight on June 26, troopers said someone(s) removed the granite stone from the cemetery and it remains lost.
The twilight red gravestone read “Benard” in large letters at the top and had the names of Gloria and Michael on it, troopers said.
Any information that can help the family get the gravestone back and/or find the person(s) responsible is asked to contact the Brooklyn Resident Troopers Office at (860) 234-1051 or Kyle.ambrose@ct.gov.
