SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) — A mother bear and her cub were seen playing on a trampoline Monday afternoon in Southwick, Massachusetts.
A video sent to NewsNation’s WWLP from Brianna Batchelor, of Southwick, shows a cub playing on the trampoline while a mother bear pulls on the surrounding protective net. The mother bear eventually finds a way onto the trampoline before the cub manages to escape.
The bears were able to get off the trampoline, but it looks like some repairs will be needed on the net. Brianna says bears have also been seen recently in the area by her neighbors.
The Defenders of Wildlife conservation organization estimates that there are over 300,000 black bears in the United States. Black bears become more active in the spring as they search for food.
