NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WCMH) – A family-run farm market that has served New Albany for over 50 years announced it is permanently closing, but the owners said they have a new concept planned for the property.
The owners of Doran’s Farm Market, located at 5462 Babbitt Road, announced Friday they will open for their last day on July 18. The business is holding a final sale, taking 20% off all processed and jarred items until they close.
“This has been our life’s work and we thank you for being there to enjoy it with us,” a Facebook post reads. “It has been an incredible chapter in our lives – on to the next.”
The business, founded in the 1970s, sells numerous fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, cheeses, honey and baked goods. The market’s Facebook page teased that the property would be taken over by a new concept, but the owners did not reveal what.
“We have decided to use the farm in other ways,” the post reads. “We are not leaving, so stay tuned for possible ways to enjoy the farm with us in the future.”
Until its closure, the market is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and is closed on Sundays.
