MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — A West Virginia school bus driver is facing felony charges after several calls of a potentially intoxicated driver led to a traffic stop on April 9.
Senior Trooper J. L. Cavender and Corporal A. B. Ward responded to the Camp Conley area on April 9 finding Leslie Watterson, 53 of Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
Officials say evidence was collected and tested at the West Virginia State Police Forensic Lab confirming Watterson was impaired at the time of the initial stop.
According to officials, on May 23, warrants were obtained for One (1) count of Driving In an Impaired State With a Minor, and Fifty Three (53) counts of Gross Child Neglect Creating a Substantial Risk of Death or Injury.
Watterson was arrested and arraigned in Mason County.
Officials say bond was set at $225,000 cash or surety.
