WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKBN) – Approximately 35,430 pounds of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa sausage has been recalled, according to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The sausage may be contaminated with foreign materials like rubber pieces and was produced by Salm Partners, LLC from Denmark, Wisconsin.

The 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages contain one piece of “Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY,” per the label. The sausage has best-by dates of May 17, 2024 and May 18, 2024. Recalled products also bear the establishment number “P-32009” printed on the side of the packaging.

The sausage was shipped to retail locations nationwide, according to an alert posted to the USDA’s official site.

The issue was first identified by consumers who complained of rubber bits in the product. There have not been reports of consumers who suffered adverse reactions or injuries as a result of the foreign materials.

The agency advises that the sausage be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Customers who have questions about the recall can contact Stephanie Schafer, the Director of Global Corporate Communications for Johnsonville, at 888-556-2728. They can also submit questions via email at sschafer@johnsonville.com.
