UPDATE (6:18 p.m.): Authorities are continuing their investigation into the shooting at a May Day celebration that officials say started from a week-long feud.

“A couple guys decided they wanted to go out and do something very violent, and they were wrong for doing it, and they have hurt a lot of people, and it’s our job to figure it out,” Capt. Andre Reid of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said.

And that’s what investigators are doing.

WKRG News 5’s Debbie Williams reported that investigators have a primary suspect and identified several others who they believe to be involved in the shooting that killed three and injured 15 others.

The three victims were identified as 19-year-old Michael Anderson Jr.37-year-old Chiquita Ewing, and Christian Bradley.

Other victims are expected to recover from their gunshot wounds.

Reid says that even though over 1,000 people were in attendance at the May Day Celebration turned shooting, it is frustrating that more people have not come forward with information.

They say they cannot arrest and prosecute someone with only part of the story.

Reid said they need the public’s help.

UPDATE (4:33 p.m. May 13): News 5 has learned more about a deadly shooting that happened at a May Day celebration in the quiet community of Stockton.

About 1,000 people attended a May Day event Saturday night in an open field on Upper Bryant’s Landing Road, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

“According to witnesses, the event was peaceful until an argument took place, which led
to at least one subject shooting multiple rounds into the large crowd,” a BCSO spokesperson said.

Eighteen people were shot, three of whom died from their injuries, according to the BCSO.

“We do believe that there may have been more shooters, and we are following up on those leads,” the BCSO spokesperson said.

The sheriff’s office received investigation assistance from the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit.

In addition, “We do want to thank the Bay Minette Police Department, Loxley Police Department, Coastal Alabama Community College Police, and ALEA for helping us gain control of a chaotic scene yesterday,” the BCSO said in a statement.

Now, the sheriff’s office needs the public’s help.

“We are working very hard to bring this case to a resolution, but we cannot make arrests or successfully prosecute the offenders without help,” the BCSO statement said. “The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with this investigation.

“If anyone has any information about this case, captured video during the event, or (is) willing to identify the offenders, please contact the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office at 251-972-8589, option 7.”
