SPARTANBURG, S.C. (NewsNation Now) — A car salesman in South Carolina said he was stuck in the passenger seat when a test drive took a turn for the worst.

The dealership employee said a woman asked him to try out a car and take it on the highway, which he said is a normal request.

However, after missing several exits, going nearly 100 mph, and bumping another car he said he punched the woman in the face to get control of the vehicle, NewsNation affiliate WSPA-TV reported.

Authorities said the suspect was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
