NAPLES, Fla. (NewsNation Now) — A 20-year-old Florida man has been arrested on charges of altering voter registration without consent and unauthorized access of a computer Tuesday connected to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).

Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents arrested Anthony Steven Guevara, of Naples, after DeSantis discovered his address had been changed in the state voter database while trying to cast a ballot on Monday. The governor contacted FDLE, who eventually arrested Guevara.

FDLE agents began investigating Monday after Gov. DeSantis learned his address was changed to an address in West Palm Beach. Agents said the registration address was changed on a computer over a web browser. Authorities discovered the request was made using a computer with the IP address connected to Comcast.

They contacted Comcast who gave them the home address to which the IP was assigned.

Agents were able to identify Guevara as the suspect and arrested him at his home following a search warrant Tuesday night. 

An FDLE digital forensic examiner searched through Guevara’s computer, where Google searches for “Florida my vote” and “Florida governor” were found. Evidence also showed Guevara accessed the site “DOS.MyFlorida.com,” and the Wikipedia page for Ron DeSantis.

Agents believe Guevara also accessed the voter registrations of Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and sports celebrities Michael Jordan and LeBron James, but made no changes.

Guevara was arrested and taken to the Collier County Jail where he was held on a $5,000 bond.
