Hurricane Helene: Uber offers free rides to shelters for Floridians

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Division of Emergency Management has partnered with Uber to provide free Uber rides to shelters for Floridians.

The Free rides are for counties under a state of emergency.

To get a free ride to a shelter you will need to:

  • Open the Uber app
  • Tap Account on the bottom right and tap wallet
  • Add promo code HELENERELIEF

Free rides will be up to $35 to and from a state-approved shelter.
