The Trump Organization extended an invitation to more than 200 power linemen to stay at their golf resort in Miami Wednesday, as Florida’s Gulf Coast prepares for Hurricane Milton to make landfall this week.

Eric Trump, vice president of the organization, shared the news in a post on social platform X.

“Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL at @TrumpDoral as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton!” Trump, the son of former President Trump, posted online, sharing a video of men in yellow vests as their names were called for room assignments.

“You are amazing and the Trump Family, and entire state of Florida, appreciates you,” he added. “Enjoy the rooms — they are the best in Florida! Be safe.”

Milton, currently a Category 4 storm, is predicted to make landfall late Wednesday or Thursday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.

As many as 5.9 million people in Florida are under mandatory evacuation orders due to the storm, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates. Roughly 3.3 million residents were told to flee the Tampa, Fla., as the rain is expected to swell the city’s waterways causing mass flooding.

The latest storm, likely to be the worst to hit the Sunshine State’s west coast in more than a century, comes less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc in the southeastern U.S.

Eric Trump’s post comes after the former president launched a GoFundMe page earlier this month for victims of Helene, which made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region late last month. The page has now raised more than $7 million.

The GOP presidential nominee has also been very critical of the federal response efforts to the devastation that hit states up and down the East Coast.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and other officials have hit back on claims that the agency lacks ground personnel and has been stealing donations from victims and turning volunteers away.
