Southwest flight diverted after suspicious note found

BALTIMORE (AP) — A Southwest Airlines flight arriving from Phoenix was taken to a remote area of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Monday after the crew discovered a threatening note, authorities said.
Airport spokesman Jonathan King said Southwest Flight 2104 arrived around 5:15 p.m. before it was taken to the remote location.
According to the statement from Southwest, the 95 passengers and six crew members onboard the Boeing 737-800 were taken to the terminal by bus. The aircraft has a capacity of 175.
The statement didn’t say what the note contained or where on the plane the note was found. A spokeswoman for Southwest said authorities cleared the aircraft and the passengers were allowed to claim their luggage.

The situation has now been closed with no reported arrests, here is the information that we’ve shared. Earlier this evening, the Crew onboard flight 2104 identified a written threat upon arrival into Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Our Crew followed protocol by notifying the appropriate authorities and moving the aircraft to a remote location while awaiting further instruction. The authorities promptly arrived and boarded the aircraft, safely transferring the 95 passengers and six Crewmembers to the airport terminal via buses. We fully cooperated with authorities as they took extra precautionary measures to secure and thoroughly review the aircraft. The plane has been cleared and we are reuniting passengers with their luggage. We apologize to our Customers for the inconvenience, the Safety of our Employees and Customers always remains our upmost priority.
