ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (NewsNation Now) – A video of a Native American man dancing in the streets of Albuquerque is making waves on social media with millions of views in just a couple of days.

The video was posted on Twitter Saturday evening, and has more than five million views and more than 240,000 likes. The video was taken in the heart of downtown Albuquerque near Central and 4th Street.

Captured on video dancing, Ashkia Trujillo, told NewsNation affiliate KRQE he was doing a traditional Native American storytelling dance.

Trujillo said throughout downtown cars were at a standstill, with many drivers cheering and honking after Joe Biden was projected as the winner of the presidential election. He felt compelled to hop out of his vehicle and celebrate with a dance in the road.

“It just really meant a lot to each and every one of us. So hopefully with all that, positive changes can you know can come for each and every one of us,” said Trujillo. “Not just Native Americans, not just, you know, African Americans but like all of us, all of us, one people.”

Sharon Chischilly, the woman who posted the video said she didn’t expect the video to get so much attention.

“It was a nice moment to see,” Chischilly said. “As a photojournalist, I feel like it’s my job to find those unique moments.”

Trujillo said he also wants to remind people that this month is Native American Heritage Month.

Amid celebrations for Biden’s projected win, there were crowds of supporters for President Donald Trump gathered and protesting in various parts of the country.

Trump’s campaign continues to file lawsuits and legal challenges throughout the country over the results of the presidential election.
