NASCAR driver to show off ‘Talladega Nights’ car at Alabama event
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Ahead of the YellaWood 500 race at the Talladega Superspeedway this Sunday, October 6 a NASCAR driver and his “Talladega Nights”-inspired racecar will be heading to Alabama.
On Friday, Ryan Preece will appear at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Lincoln, where he will bring his Ford Mustang Dark Horse painted in the style of the Wonder Bread racecar that the Will Ferrell character “Ricky Bobby” drove in the 2006 comedy, “Talladega Nights.”
Preece, who drives for Stewart–Haas Racing, will be at the store from 4 to 5 p.m. The event will kick off at 3 p.m.
The Yellawood 500 will start at 1 p.m. Sunday on the CW.
