NBA investigating Josh Giddey after police probe ends: Report
- Josh Giddey cleared by police after allegations of relationship with minor
- Report: NBA still reviewing Oklahoma City guard's conduct
- Giddey has continued to play during investigations
(NewsNation) — NBA player Josh Giddey is reportedly still under investigation by the league even though he was cleared by police regarding allegations of an improper relationship with a minor.
The NBA is still conducting its own investigation into the matter, TMZ reported Thursday.
Newport Beach, California, police announced Wednesday they have closed their criminal investigation into the Oklahoma City Thunder guard after they were not able to find corroborating evidence of the claims. This led to no charges being filed against the 21-year-old basketball player.
The allegations surfaced during Thanksgiving weekend when social media posts included photos and videos of Giddey interacting with a girl believed to be a high school junior at the time.
In December, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said the league would take a “back seat” while police conducted the criminal investigation.
Throughout the probe, Giddey, who has not publicly addressed the allegations, continued to play for the Thunder.
