KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has shredded the AFC West apart since his first career NFL game against the Denver Broncos.

In fact, the Chiefs are 30-5 against the entire division with Mahomes at QB.

But that didn’t stop the Las Vegas Raiders from mocking Mahomes at training camp on Thursday.

In a video uploaded to social media, a Raiders fan brought a Kermit puppet with a Mahomes jersey and a wig meant to look like his hairstyle to the Raiders training camp.

The fan gave the Kermit doll to Raiders safety Trey Taylor, who began mocking Mahomesvoice—which has often been said to resemble Kermit’s—while holding the puppet and said “I’m a b—-.”

The post received immediate backlash on social media, with many questioning why the Raiders would poke the bear, considering Mahomes history against the Raiders and the rest of the NFL.

“It’s still early in the year, stuff like that happens. It’ll get handled when it gets handled,” Mahomes said on Friday after the Chiefs’ first padded practice.

Despite the video going viral on social media, Mahomes said not many people sent him the video, nor does he need them to.

“Everybody kind of just lets me play, I mean they know how I am. They don’t need to send me anything to keep me motivated.”

In a press conference on Friday, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce told reporters “We addressed it as a team yesterday, we nipped it in the bud. It’s over with.”

In his career, the Chiefs are 10-2 against the Raiders with Mahomes at the helm and he has thrown for 30 touchdowns and four interceptions against them. He also has more wins at Allegiant Stadium than the Raiders do after winning the Super Bowl last season.

This should be added motivation, as the Chiefs’ last loss was to the Raiders on Christmas Day, in one of the worst performances in the Mahomes era.

If Mahomes’s track record is any indication, the Raiders should be in for a long game on Oct. 27 and Nov. 29.
