(CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — We are less than one week away from the Daytona 500. Out of all the great races in NASCAR, those who win this one are forever called a champion.

This is the 66th running of the Great American Race. There are 40 spots in the field, 36 charters, and five open cars, including 7-time Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson.

Cars will qualify Wednesday night for the duels, which will be on Thursday. Those two races will set the starting lineup for Sunday’s big race.

Our Charlotte Sports Live squad will be there starting Tuesday, Feb. 13, leading up until the Daytona 500 on Feb. 8.

QCN and CSL will have interviews with drivers, coverage of Media Day, the duels, and the races leading up to the main event on Sunday.
