What Super Bowl bets can you make? From Taylor Swift to Usher to Brock Purdy
(KRON) — The Super Bowl is one of America’s favorite pastimes, and for some, the big game is even more enjoyable with some bets on the line.
As a result, sportsbooks go all-out for the big game, offering action on items both on and off the field. This year, Super Bowl bettors in states where it is legal can put money down on everything from Taylor Swift’s outfit to her boyfriend’s stat line.
Here’s a look at some of the more interesting bets being offered by online sportsbooks.
Taylor Swift
America’s biggest pop star’s new relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has brought the eyes of her rabid fan base to the NFL this season, and sportsbooks are looking to capitalize.
BetOnline is offering 86 bets related to Taylor Swift. These bets range from whether she will kiss Kelce to whether she will high-five someone in a given quarter. Bettors can even put money down on whether her outfit will be designed by Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk. At 9-to-1 odds, people can bet on Kelce proposing to Swift.
DraftKings took a different angle to Swift-themed bets. In a section titled “For The Swifties,” football bets are named after Taylor’s songs and albums. For example, a bet titled “Shake It Off” offers +350 odds for the 49ers to score first but the Chiefs to win.
On-Field Action
Those looking to bet on game outcomes have no shortage of options. Standard NFL bets are available on who will win, who will score the game’s first touchdown and more.
For the Super Bowl, gambling hubs get more creative. FanDuel offers a bet on whether the jersey number of the player who scores the first touchdown will be above or below 20.
The line for Brock Purdy’s passing yards is 246.5; bettors will have to choose whether his final passing yards total is below or above that number. The line for Kelce’s receiving yards is 72.5.
Some of the bets are incredibly specific — one bet gives odds on whether the Two Minute Warning in the first half will happen with exactly 2:00 on the clock. NextGen stats are part of the fun too — FanDuel users can bet on which ballcarrier is measured at the fastest speed in miles per hour.
Usher
The halftime show is a huge part of every Super Bowl, and people excited to watch Usher can bet on several aspects of his performance.
Will he be wearing sunglasses? What will be the primary color of his shirt when he first appears on stage? Will he shout out Swift? BetOnline users can even wager on whether he will show a nipple — the odds on that are close to 50/50, with “no” a slight favorite.
Miscellaneous
Some ever-popular bets include whether the coin toss will land on heads or tails and what color the Gatorade that gets dumped on the winning coach will be. Orange is a slight favorite on FanDuel.
Cross-sport prop bets exist too, where betters are heavily rewarded if they can pick both the winner of the Super Bowl and the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament, which is happening on the same day.
