(WPHL) – Did you know Wednesday’s date is a palindrome? Just look at the numbers: 4-24-24.

Now try reading backward. It is still 4-2-4-2-4.

April 20 through April 29 is a week of palindrome dates, meaning the dates can be read forward and backward with the same result.

Oxford Languages defines a palindrome as a “word, phrase, or sequence that reads the same backward as forward.”

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, palindromes are considered rare and even lucky for some.

Since the U.S. uses the mm/dd/yyyy format, palindromes are more frequent in the United States, than in other parts of the world.

Sensing a pattern? According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the next five years will all contain consecutive palindrome dates, shifting one month every year.
