DENVER (KDVR) — A mother and her son were enjoying the weekend in Denver until they realized they had lost a beloved teddy bear, Jelly Bear.

Now, the family is doing everything they can to find the fuzzy family member.

Jessica Fey and her son, originally from the Firestone area, were in Denver visiting family over the weekend. Fey recalled leaving the hotel with Jelly Bear, getting into the car, and going to the Montbello Recreation Center in the Gateway-Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.

The family thought Jelly Bear was somewhere in the car after they were packed up, but he was nowhere to be found

“It literally was gone, and we don’t know if somebody took it, if they threw it away. We’ve looked everywhere, we’ve called everywhere, and nobody seems to have seen it,” said Fey.

“You can tell in that picture that it was well worn out and loved, and honestly, it kind of just disappeared into thin air,” said Fey.

Fey said Jelly Bear was almost as old as her son. Her son’s grandmother gave him the Jellycat stuffed animal when he was about six months old. Now, her son is nine years old, and until Saturday, the bear went everywhere with him.

“He has literally dragged it around with him every single place that he has gone since that age,” said Fey.

The whole family is looking for the bear and is asking for the public’s help.

“He hasn’t had the easiest path in life, and this is his comfort item. For anybody that’s had hard trials in their life, they know that comfort items are important, it’s something that you tend to lean onto,” said the boy’s aunt on a TikTok post.

Fey said her son is beyond distraught about Jelly Bear. While the family has searched and called all over Denver, Fey said they’re now offering a monetary reward of $200 or more to anyone who can safely return the bear to her son.

“Because my son is so devastated, that’s why I was willing to pay as much money as possible to get people looking for it so that we could get it back to him,” said Fey.

Fey said people can reach out to her on Instagram if they have any information on Jelly Bear.

“I told him the whole world’s out looking for Jelly Bear,” said Fey.
