Joe Montana stops home intruder who tried to kidnap his grandchild
MALIBU, Calif. (NewsNation Now) — NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana fought off an intruder who entered his home and attempted to kidnap one of his grandchildren Saturday evening, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Montana told LASD his nine-month-old grandchild was sleeping in the playpen when the female intruder, identified as Sodsai Dalzell, entered the residence and removed the child from the playpen and held the baby in her arms.
Montana and his wife Jennifer were able to wrestle the baby away.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out,” the former San Francisco 49ers star tweeted. “Scary situation, but thankful that everybody is doing well. We appreciate respect for our privacy at this time.”
The sheriff’s office said Dalzell fled the home but was later arrested. She is facing kidnapping and burglary charges.
No one was injured during the incident, including the nine-month-old child.
