SAN FRANCISCO (NewsNation Now) — A family in San Francisco got closer to nature than they imagined while hiking along a trail at the Golden Gate Park.

The father and son were riding their electric scooters alongside their family dog, when they came across 14 raccoons, NewsNation affiliate KRON-TV reported.

The group of bushy-tailed bystanders looked just as shocked to see them. Moments later, the son spotted a coyote.

That’s when the family took off, to keep their dog safe.

Wildlife experts said in moments like these, remember to keep your distance and don’t feed the animals.
