BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (NewsNation Now) — The U.S. Air Force on Wednesday intercepted a general aviation aircraft that had entered a temporarily restricted area near Bullhead City, Arizona, according to NORAD.
NORAD F-16s investigated the aircraft in question after it was determined it was not in contact with air traffic control and entered the restricted area without proper clearance, officials said.
“The violating aircraft was non-responsive to initial intercept procedures, but established radio communications after NORAD aircraft deployed signal flares,” NORAD said on Twitter.
The aircraft was escorted out of the restricted area by the NORAD aircraft without further incident.
