(NewsNation) — More than 50 people have been reported stranded on the roof of a hospital in Unicoi County, Tennessee, after employees and patients from the health facility moved to the roof to escape floodwaters associated with Helene, officials said.
The storm, which began as a Category 4 hurricane as it made landfall in Florida, has been downgraded to a tropical storm as it has moved across four states.
NewsNation local affiliate WJHL confirmed that all patients and personnel had been rescued by Friday evening.
