MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Tennessee couple found themselves stuck in the eye of the storm and lived to tell about it.

John and Eva Howard sent NewsNation affiliate WKRN a video of them inside their vehicle when they found themselves stuck in the Maury County storm. The video showed what appeared to be rotation in front of them, joined by strong winds and heavy rain.

Thankfully, the couple was able to escape unharmed.

“I knew that if this was our time, we always said that we would like to go together, and I’ve always prayed, ‘God, if you take him, take me, too,’ and I thought this was going to be it, and I just wanted him to make sure he knew that I loved him, and I just said…I just prayed. All I could do was pray,” Eva said.

So far, one storm-related death has been confirmed in Middle Tennessee.
